Microsoft, Gates Claim Yahoo! Offer is Fair

Bill Gates claims the Microsoft offer for the Yahoo! web portal, presented recently, is fair and they need to "look hard at it". There is talk of a hostile takeover if Yahoo! maintains its rejection status. Microsoft is pursuing Google in the battle for search traffic and ad revenue. The move to acquire Yahoo! will help in the pursuit. They have valued the company at $40+ billion. Yahoo! has rejected that valuation and the offer.
